A Randomized Pilot Clinical and Microbiological Study Comparing Laser Microtextured Implants with and without Platform Switching

چکیده
Minimising marginal bone loss around dental implants is of paramount importance. The success methods such as platform switching (PS) and laser-micro-texturing (LM) are well documented. Whether or not a combination these designs will further improve outcomes has been studied previously. Hence, this prospective, randomized controlled single-centre pilot study compared the clinical microbiological with both PS LM (test) to only (control). A test control implant were placed in thirteen patients totalling 26 implants. primary investigated outcome was level (MBL); secondary peri-implant probing depths (PPD), bleeding on (BOP) tissue height (MTH). Additionally, presence five putative periodontal pathogens assessed using real-time polymerized chain reaction. At 12 months overall survival rate 95.8%. MBL change found be different between at any time points, but significant detected within 6 baseline (p = 0.006). No differences outcomes. Average PPD 2.68 ± 0.73 mm 2.30 0.46 average MTH 0.05 0.72 −0.24 0.59 tests controls. reported BOP frequency. Total count revealed no difference among control, adjacent tooth sites. Within limitations study, it can concluded that addition does significantly alter either short-term vulnerability pathogenic microflora colonization.

Randomized Clinical Investigation of Titanium Implants with and without Platform Switching: Six Months’ Radiographic and Clinical Outcome
The aim of this study was to obtain a randomized, clinical and radiological comparison of implants with and without platform switching (PFS). The two compared titanium implant types differed only in the microgap position: test (PFS) or control (StE, no PFS). All implants were inserted in posterior regions and followed up for six months after abutment connection (AC). Twenty one patients with 21...
متن کاملOpen or submerged healing of implants with platform switching: a randomized, controlled clinical trial.
AIM The temporal pattern of bone-level alterations in conventionally restored implants is dependent upon healing mode (open or submerged). This study examined the influence of healing on marginal bone levels at implants with a medium-rough surface including the implant collar and a clearance-fit implant-abutment connection restored according to a platform-switching concept. MATERIAL AND METHO...

The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of mucositis and peri-implantitis associated with the use of two types of implants-conventional versus platform switching after one year of loading. A longitudinal study of 64 implants in 25 patients was performed. Clinical variables, such as clinical pocket depth and bleeding upon probing, plaque, mobility, gingival recession, clinical a...
متن کاملa comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection
supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...
